Is it just me or does time always seem to speed up during the last few months of the year? Apparently summer is over- what we had of one anyway- and it's nearly Christmas time!

I started a new job at the beginning of the month and it seems to be going well although I'll happily confess to being somewhat confused by a lot of the jargon and having a rather bewildered expression on my face when people start speaking to me in abbreviations! Spare time has been at something of a premium as I adjust to things so scrapping has been fairly sporadic but I do have a few pretty pictures to share!

These are for Angel Crafts using the new Webster's pages lines, Nature's Storybook and Postcards from Paris, and papers from the Petite Pads.

This one uses October Afternoon Report Card papers and spray ink.

And these two pages are from the latest challenges at A True Friend where we've also added some new DT members to the team. Some really great girls, cute pets and pretty pages to look forward to!

Still attempting to get the flat ready for selling- there really is nothing more boring than waiting for paint to dry! So, here are quite a few pictures in lieu of anything interesting to say.

This months kit from Bellaboo features the Cosmo Cricket Early Bird papers which I love! These are my DT projects with it.

Angel Crafts is just awaiting the delivery of the gorgeous new Websters Pages papers- these are some layouts using the last releases; Sweet Life, Magical Wishes and the one I think is still my favourite, Hello Beautiful.

...must be time for my monthly blog post! I honestly don't mean to be this much of a lazy blogger!

So, this is a busy month for me. I turned 30 last Monday and got some lovely presents, and of course cake which is really the whole point of birthdays I think! I have a job interview on Wednesday so fingers crossed for that. And, we've decided to move house so are in the process of tarting up the flat to sell. I spent this weekend stripping the bathroom wallpaper, which apparently I superglued to the walls as it really does not want to come off!

Just finished watching the finale of Battlestar Galactica- both sad and somewhat confused by it! I don't think I liked how it ended, but short of storming the office of the director and asking for a rewrite there's not much I can do! Happily, there's the new Caprica season to wait for plus a Cylon feature film! If none of that made any sense, apologies, I'm a sci-fi geek!

It's been glorious weather here lately, my peely wally scottish skin has even gone from its normal translucent white to a slight pinky colour!

The rest of my projects from June's Bellaboo kit. It was a complete sell out and really fun to work with. You got a whole bag of buttons which is always good as I do like me buttons!

I found this old mask in a charity shop a while ago and decided to recycle it with the add of some old paper, rub ons and a few other bits and pieces. It all got a bit messy but I really enjoyed it and think I may have to keep my eye open for another one to do!

The last challenge at A True Friend was to use a quote on your page. It's a bit small to try and read so my quote is "The mathematical probability of a cat doing exactly as it pleases is the one scientific absolute in the world'- quite apt I thought! We were sponsored by Papermania and got a huge box of papers and embellishemtns to use. The latest challenge is to create an animal themed card and it was a great excuse to dust off the stamps that I haven't used for a while, or had completely forgotten I actually owned! Had a bit of a brain meltdown though trying to think of something punny for the giraffe card!

Anyway, that's all for just now! Off to rescue my shoelaces from the kitten!

Random post title I know but we've just been watching Wizard of Oz! Been up to not very much at all, just finishing off some course work which is finally all done- hurrah!

Woo hoo- I'm on the new Bellaboo Design Team! Very excited to get my first kit as Cleo puts a great mix of bits and pieces together!

The cats are all getting along well now, infact a little too well! Apollo and Morgan have taken to charging around the house and over the furniture, usually bowling us out the way as they do their mini Grand Prix circuits!
Acting like a rampaging elephant really tires you out!

The latest challenge at A True Friend is to scrap an animal- any animal! While we love our pets, we also love many other animals and have loads of photos from zoo visits and our gardens so this challenge has been thrown open to include all animal kind! These photos are from the dolphin show we saw in Tenerife last year. They really are amazing animals!

I don't usually make mini-books- I tend to get bored after the first few pages and they lie around unfinished. But I had some felt squares and thought they'd make a cute baby book for Morgan's first few days with us. Simple, quick and cute!

Off to get trampled on by the cats again as we get ready for tonight's cheesefest, otherwise known as Eurovision!

Kitty chaos and a bit of scrapping

Introducing little miss Morgan- the newest addition to our furry family! She's the same breed as Apollo so does look kinda identical apart from a little white spot on one of her back feet.
I never realised what a monster Apollo was until we saw the two of them sitting together- he looks huge! Thankfully after some initial growls and hisses the two of them are getting along quite well and are currently galloping through the hall, making a noise like a herd of elephants!

As you can see she's already mastered the art of posing for the camera!

The lastest challenge at A True Friend is to scrap about your pet's friends. Apollo used to like to cuddle up to sleep with his cat teddy though he prefers to cuddle up near Morgan now. Ah, I see another page in the making! Check out the blog and have a play along with the challenge.

So, it's been a while! Did ya miss me?
I could do a huge long post with a catch up of last what, 3 months? But that would be pretty boring- so I won't, and will just show some pretty pictures instead!

But a teeny bit of totally random news- I got published in a magazine. A Taiwanese tattoo magazine to be precise! Pretty cool huh! My first international pub! The lovely Anam has this blog for tattooed scrappers, and a while back she got in touch to ask if it was ok to include some of my pages in a magazine she'd been asked to do an article for. So thank you Anam for my very first non-UK publishing and all the hard work you put into it!

And by happy coincidence, I got another tattoo recently. For Steven and my first wedding anniversary I decided to get the pattern of my engagement ring tattooed on my wrist.

Sun, sand and sangria!; back to work blues; but its nearly Christmas!

Had a fab week away in Tenerife last week with friends- lots of good food, sangria and a little bit of sun! Not as much as we thought though as it was quite overcast so I'm still a fetching shade of Scottish white! Well. apart from the red of the mozzie bites! We actually got quite a lot done in a couple of days and went on a submarine safari, a visit to the big animal park, and the boys got a round of golf in, so not too bad all round. No photos to show though as I haven't uploaded them yet- I still havent fully unpacked the suitcase yet!

Not so good coming back to our miserable weather here, and not even any snow to make it seem more wintery rather than just bloody cold. Back to work too- I'm really going to have to start buying lottery tickets so I can be a lady of leisure!

On the plus side, Christmas is just around the corner! Got our big xmas crop at the end of November which I'm really looking forward too- I'm sure much festive mayhem will ensue! And I can start singing Christmas carols again without the other half looking at me like I'm a nutjob!

Ok, so I didn't intend to leave it this long before blogging again but life just keeps getting in the way!

So Jay, Vicki, Gail, Kimmy and Beckie, come on down, the price is right! Can you tell its Friday? Got a brain like a mashed banana!

This is my page for the latest A True Friend challenge. The challenge was to scrap what character your pet would be. Moo is the Purrminator- because even though she looks like a fat old bag of fur, she's got a deadly arsenal of tricks! For example, if picked up, she will deploy the Moo Foot- which basically sticking her back foot up your nose in order to let you know she's not impressed at being held! She also has the Ass Whack- its amazing how much a 5kg cat can wind you when she swings her backend into you!

These are my pages for rounds 3 and 4 at the Bad Girls Top Designer competition. The 3rd round was on using different proportions of colour and the 4th was on accessorising your page. Went a bit mad with the Riff Raff on that one- its so much fun! I'm currently attempting to complete my round 5 page for bringing colour out of the photo and onto the page but I'm struggling with it a bit. I think I may end up doing something completely different at the last minute.

These two are things I did for Angel Crafts DT. The card uses some of the newer Pink Paislee range- can't remember what its called at the mo!, and the mini book uses woodgrain Hambly ( love love love!) and thickers.

My blogging absence hasn't all been due to laziness! Last weekend Steven and I went with his friend Gav and partner Debbie to a posh hotel and golf club for Gav's 30th. Due to Debbie being in the touristy biz, we got upgraded from standard rooms to the swanky suites! Talk about jaw hit the floor!- little houses next to the main hotel with their own living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen!

The food at the hotel was pretty amazing too! The kind of stuff where they bring you a plate and it looks like there's a speck of dirt on it that turns out to be what you ordered for your starter! And some woman at breakfast ordered her toast 'grilled over an open flame'! Eh? What's wrong with the toaster?I would have taken photos but I don't think the white-gloved maitre de would've been very impressed! The boys went for a round of golf on Saturday while Debbie and I went for a ramble then consumed copious amounts of tea in the clubhouse when it started pising down outside. We were planning on propping up the bar but since there wasn't much change from a tenner for 2 drinks, we decided tea was the better option!

Wow, this has turned into a bit of an epic post! Steven and I both have the next two weeks off work! Bliss! So I think we'll be taking it easy, watching some trash TV a la Jeremy Kyle, and there's a bag of Sassafras on my desk just begging to be played with!

Getting back to 'normal'-whatever that is!; one year married; general randomness!

Ok, so I'll never win a consistent blogger award! But I think, finally, I'm getting my life back under control! Who would have thought organisation was the key to making sure there are enough hours in the day for everything! And after my near month long absence do I have anything interesting to blog about? Bugger all! Actually no, that's a lie! The lovely Angela from Angel Crafts has asked me to be on her Design Team! Hambly and Sassafras and all kinds of assorted goodness! She's also given me an award on her blog that I shall post up later!

It was Steven and my first wedding anniversary last Friday and a very nice day we had too. Lunch at the Chinese buffet (yes Chegs, tacky I know but you can't get banana fritters in posh restaurants!), spending some dosh- Steven got me a beautiful necklace and a rather blinging watch, and I bought him/ er us, a coffee machine! It's a lovely shiny red colour and call me a coffee snob, but I do like good coffee!

These are also my layouts for the first and second round at Bad Girls Top Designer competition. Not a hope in hell of winning as there's some amazing talent there but more pages for the album!

These are the last two challenges for A True Friend. I feel quite guilty as I haven't had the time to comment on those who've done the challenges and I feel that's a bit rude if people have gone to the effort to do a page and post a link, but I have now scheduled time for leaving some blog love! BTW, do you notice the blue phase I appear to be going through at the moment? Just can't seem to stop scrapping with it!

Crop on Saturday again so time to chill out with the girls, eat cake, faff around and generally just laugh myself silly! Oh, and I may have my first international publication soon but its so totally random, you'll never guess! I shall tell more when I find out if its all going ahead!

Don't know whether I'm coming or going at the moment! Settling into my new workplace ok but its so busy compared to my last job that the days are whizzing by and I'm knackered by the time I get home. Which is good, but also leaving me feeling like I don't seem to have enogh time to do everything- not that I have anything really to do, just feels like I have less time to do stuff in if I had stuff to do, if you know what I mean!

I was at crop on Saturday and my first class seemed to go well! I was pretty nervous but the girls seemed to enjoy it- though there was some mild hysteria at having to crumple paper! This is the page I did.

I got the Twilight series of books by Stephanie Meyer with my birthday book tokens and OMG! I couldn't put the books down once I started! Probably another reason why I'm so tired! As corny as a high school vampire romance sounds and despite the fact these books are in the teen fiction section- these are amazing books. The story is so intense and addictive- I'm waiting til the weekend to get the fourth book so I don't start nodding off at work cos I've been up all night reading! And I've just found out there's meant to be a fifth book too- hurrah!

You know, I'd love to say I haven't blogged lately because I've had such a hectic social life and been doing lots of really interesting things. But that would be a lie! My life has mainly been filled with the drudgery of work, and for most of this week, trying to get my head round physics for a course I'm doing. (2,8,2 incase anyone is actually geeky enough to want to know the answer to the post title!) And after I manage to melt my brain learning about specific heat capacity and radiative energy transfers, I get to do some Chemistry next- woo hoo! My most favourite subject- NOT! Jeez, all I need is for them to throw some maths at me and you'll probably be able to hear my brain implode in Australia!

I did go to see Mamma Mia this week though with Chegs, my sister and my nana, and have been singing (badly) Abba songs since! Good film though!

Just a little bit of scrapping lately. The new challenge is up at A True Friend to scrap 'I wish I'd known'. When Apollo was little he'd jump up on my pillow in the morning to lick my nose and tell me he was hungry. It was so cute, but if I'd known 7 months later and 3kg heavier that he'd not only still be licking my nose, but stealing my pillow from me if I didn't get up to feed him, I might not have let him away with it!

An excuse to use the dinky dinosaurs from Riff Raff! I always wanted to see the tar pits in LA and when we were in Hollywood we took a tour bus round to see the sights. But it was so hot I couldn't be bothered getting off the bus so this is the closest we got to them!

Got a big delivery this morning of the papers I'll be using for my crop class next week so I think the weekend will be spent sorting everything out and bagging it up. Getting a bit nervous as I haven't done anything like this in years but its a great bunch of girls at the crop so hopefully there shouldn't be too much heckling!

Love Parcelforce!; croppin time; on the move

Parcelforce rock! I actually managed to get my Bad Girls kit in record time this month and was able to pick it up on the way to crop yesterday. Which was, ummm, interesting to say the least! I managed to get 3 pages started and finished off at home. Next month I'll be teaching my first ever class- and I'm just a teeny bit nervous, but hopefully it'll go fine!

From this month's Bad Girls kit- the pictures are a bit blurred but the cats are so unco-operative when you're trying to get a picture of them doing something silly!

I got the Quirky scrapbook kit from Crafty Templates, such cool little bits and pieces in it! Dixie is my oldest cat who still lives with Chegs. He's 19 so really is a vintage edition!
Another page using mainly the Quirky kit plus a sheet of Prima. Chegs got a new doggie Sophie, and when we were dog sitting her I took these pictures of Steven goofing around in the garden with her!

Just found out that I'll shortly be moving departments at work. Not really ecstatic about it but I don't really have much choice and hopefully it'll work out ok! Been taking lots of photos of my current work place as I've been there since 1997 and I think I'll quite miss the old building! I know it seems a bit silly to be sentimental over a building but at least it's more stuff to scrap about!

Melancholy goodbyes; some scrapping.

We've finally had our official notice to move at work and as I've been packing things up it's got me thinking. Apart from home, the building we're in is probably where I've spent most of my adult life. From a somewhat tipsy Fresher starting Uni in 1997 through to an employee, this building has been one of the constant things in my life. From the delightful institutional brown and green decor, to the wonky lift with asbestos warnings, to the beautiful view from the roof and the psychotic seagull guarding it; it's all part of my daily routine. And although it seems silly to be sentimental about bricks and stone, I will miss it. So I've been going around with my camera to document these little things before it all changes.

This page is for my ongoing wedding/ honeymoon album. I mean, its only coming up to our first wedding anniversary so I'm not too behind in scrapping these pics! When we were in Vegas we saw a rocket trail in the sky and it always makes me think of the song 'Sky rockets in flight' when I look at the photo.

These pages were all done using the July Bad Girls kit which is just gorgeous!

The latest challenge is up at A True Friend, to scrap a true confession. I must confess I talk to the cats and not just sort of cat baby talk but full on conversations! I sit and chat to them about how my day went, a film on TV, what I'm cooking for tea- anything and everything! Yes, I am heading for a future of being the mad cat woman with a hundred cats- but at least they don't answer back! This page was done with more from the Crafty Templates Quirky kit.

Donkey sitting; but not much else!

Tut tut, I've been such a slack blogger lately! No good excuse- just haven't really been up to much that's blog-worthy! We're looking after my friend's cat Donkey and its been World War Miaow going on around our feet! Along the same lines, this week's A True Friend challenge is to scrap your pets nemesis. Apollo likes to pounce on Moo but she's a bit of a grump and doesn't usually take it too well, so it generally ends up in fisty-paws!

I did this box from June's Bad Girls project kit as a present for my friend Kathryn's daughter. Lots of crackle glaze and bling! I just hope she likes it!

And that's about all I've done this week- jeez, what an exciting life I lead!

My job sucks! Well no, technically I do like my job but its very quiet just now as we're due to relocate to another location soon. Which I don't really want to do. So I'm trying to think of a new career I can embark on! Hmm, since I'm not really qualified for much there's not a lot of choices! School lollipop lady? Supermarket shelf stacker? We watched a film about tornados the other night and I got to thinking how cool it would be to be a storm chaser and do all the meteorological stuff- except you probably need maths and physics and all that kind of mumbo jumbo that, quite frankly, my brain doesn't really cope well with! Bit pants really!

This one is for the latest challenge at A True Friend to scrap the soundtrack of your pets life. Apollo doesn't so much have a song as a constant galloping noise in the background!

This layout is pretty much about the same kind of thing aswell! When Apollo isn't galloping he's generally squeaking at me for food (he doesn't do proper miaows yet, bless!), purring when he's getting fussed over, or playing with his cheepy toy. I painted some Hambly by accident and liked the look so did a few more pieces in the page like that.

Steven got LEGO Indiana for his XBOX and it's so much fun! How can you not love a game where little LEGO characters run around and get blown to bricks when you shoot them?!

Just some random kitty cat pages!

These two I did at our crop yesterday. The photo is off my sister's cat, Della, sitting in an old fish tank in Cheg's garden, licking the bottom! I have no idea why, she's just a bit of a crazy kitty! The other is a pic of my pink hair- a completely random, throw everything on the page kind of layout!

We also did a cute beer mat mini-book at crop from a class with Bren but I haven't finished mine yet so no pics of that just now. Our crop leader Jay was waiting on news of her brother's partner having her babies. They were expecting twin boys but they were being delivered 8 weeks early so everytime a phone went off the whole crop went silent! Thankfully all went well and Jay is now a proud auntie!

Hee hee- I'm queen of the crop! Over at Bad Girls anyway! The prizes were drawn for all the classes and I got top prize of a gift certificate to spend in the store! Can't see that lasting too long! It really was a lot of fun and there were great classes. The next big workshop there will be in September I think (?) and its Top Designer- last years prize was a HUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE box of goodies so I'll definitely be entering this year and you should too!

Made a couple of cards for people; the first is an engagement card for my sister to give to a friend and the second is an acceptance card to my cousin's wedding- not that me and Steven have been invited, it was for Chegs to send!

This is a page from May's Bad Girl kit and the challenge was to scrap a quote. My grandad was recently diagnosed with Alzheimers and a couple of weeks ago had to be sectioned due to his agressive behaviour. Chegs, my sister and I all went with my nana when she went to visit him for the first time there. It was heartbreaking to see how we'd become strangers to him and there were a lot of tears but I also realised how proud I was of these women as I saw them coping with the situation and finding the best in it. I used the quote 'What does not break us makes us stronger' as although its always been my general philosophy in life, it really seemed to mean something in that hospital ward.

This is my page for the current challenge at A True Friend to show evidence of our pets in our homes. Needless to say, there are no shortage of signs that we have a hairy little grey monster, otherwise known as Apollo!, living here! Maimed toys all over the floor, shredded wallpaper, wrappers stolen out the bin, and the smell can be pretty hard to miss too! Thanks to the very patient Flo who answered lots of my questions today, I tried to do some image transfers again! Cue lots of mess with paint on desk, hands, cat who decided to run across said painty desk, oh and the phone! blinkin kitchen sellers! I finally managed to get one I'm happy with but have decided inkjet images really do not work- well not the way I was doing them anyway! But at least I know I can do it now and jsut need to practise a bit more until I have something usable. and not covered in paw prints!

I went car-booting with Steven and his mum at the weekend and picked up some cool stuff, all for under a tenner!
A mere 3 quid! There is another lamp to go on it I just need to get a new connector for it. Steven saw me looking at it and asked me what colour I was going to paint it- he know me too well! I just liked the leaves and flowers twined round it, very whimsical and fairy looking!

These two are going to get sanded down and then painted up and made purty! No idea what I'll do with them then but it should be fun!

I've got the week off work so have been taking it nice and lazy so far! I may decide to clean the house tomorrow and do something productive- but more than likely I'll be sitting in my jammies til dinner time pushing bits of paper around!

I spent a very productive (for me anyway!) weekend doing some classes from the Bad Girls Summer Workshop. Everything from mini books using toilet paper rolls- sounds bizarre but really works!, little birdie houses- my new addiction!, plus notice boards, lighted boxes, coaster album, calendar frames and a whole load of other fun bits and bobs! Just a few pics for ya!
